The Church in Garstang

Garstang United Reformed Church is committed to our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the good news of God’s love, forgiveness, peace and eternal life he offers to the world.

We offer a varied programme of worship, teaching and prayer, social activities and special events for all ages, and a keen commitment to God’s kingdom of justice and peace throughout the world.

Originally known as Garstang Congregational Church and founded in 1777, our church is now a member of the Lancashire District of the United Reformed Church. We are proud of our history as an independent church, but as a United Reformed Church we rejoice in our involvement in the ecumenical life of Churches Together in Garstang and District.

Our recently refurbished Church Hall is regularly used by various special interest community groups and charities.

Our Millennium Bible Garden is a haven of peace and tranquillity, which you are welcome to visit.

Our church actively supports Christian Aid, holds the FairTrade certificate, and supports many charities every year.

The Church's Mission in Garstang

We believe that God calls us to be a church where all people may find and show God’s love in Jesus Christ:
  • in word and action,
  • in worship and prayer,
  • in friendship and pastoral care,
  • in serving our community,
  • in responding in whatever way we can to God’s call: to create and pray for a fairer, healthier and more peaceful world.
