![]() What a wonderful way to bring the Bible to life by seeing the plants growing - the Crown of Thorns bush, the Lilies of the Field and many more. Since our climate is far from suitable for some of these Mediterranean plants, a few will have to spend the winter indoors. In those far off days, not many people could read or write so Jesus’s teaching was restricted to the spoken word. To emphasise a point, he often told parables (a story using everyday familiar objects to illustrate a difficult point) using plants as examples. However, today, a story about figs or vines has lost its real meaning for many of us because we only see these fruit in neat boxes and bunches in the supermarket. For this reason alone, our Bible Garden promises to play a vital role nearly 2000 years after our Lord’s life on Earth. a story using everyday familiar objects to illustrate a difficult point.
