FAITH TODAY

Our meetings begin again on MONDAY 11th January 2010 at 7.30pm.

In view of the repairs to the Church roof, we will hold the meetings in either the crèche room or one of the upstairs rooms in the Church hall, depending on people’s mobility.

Our theme for the next 7 sessions will be ‘Great Prayers of the Bible’.

Prayer is the great powerhouse of the church-it always has been and always will be. When people pray -things happen.

We all know how important prayer is, yet many of us find it difficult to do. We don’t know how to pray; our minds are filled with our own concerns and our own problems and we find it   difficult to care and pray for others. In these troubled times we live in we are called more and more to make prayer a priority.

There are hundreds of prayers, both personal and public, which are included in the Scriptures for our help and instruction. We shall be looking at just a few of them. They will be of different styles and used for different purposes.

As we examine, think and discuss them and their relevance today I hope we can all learn ways of improving our own prayer life.

Meetings will be fortnightly until the last meeting which is at the beginning of Holy Week.
